Firstborn exists to help those lovers of Jesus devote themselves more fully to him during the Advent season, both thanking Him for his coming as a child, and longing for his second coming as King. Original compositions follow the traditional themes of the candles on the Advent wreath, each looking at some of the different characters who surrounded Jesus’ coming as a man.
Thomas Hart Benton Project
In the fall of 2018, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art commissioned Poor Bishop Hooper to perform in the American Contemporary Art gallery for a select crowd. The focus was three paintings by Thomas Hart Benton. Hooper wrote three original compositions to accompany the conversation, as well as performing other vintage and original works that helped bring the paintings to life.
The Golgotha Experience
Complementing the beautiful visual history that surrounds the ‘Stations of the Cross’ tradition, Golgotha is composed of fourteen, scripture-based original songs. These songs invite the mind and heart to experience the Savior’s suffering in new ways. With original music at its core, it also uses powerful visuals, the scriptures, and guided prayer, to draw people nearer to Jesus.

A collection of songs from a bygone era, Bricktop includes many pop hits of the ‘30s and ‘40s. Performed live with an upright bass and an archtop guitar, these classics are not just vintage songs that stand on nostalgia, but timeless works that are sure to please.
A collection of songs about love, life, and hardship, Gold was written from the overflow of Jesse and Leah’s personal experiences. Simple arrangements accentuate its memorable melodies and lyrical strength.
